Islam and Polygamy

At the point when Prophet Muhammad was youthful and affluent, he had just a single spouse. Be that as it may, over the most recent thirteen years of his life when he was more than fifty, he wedded various spouses – except for one, all were widows and old.

Even when Prophet Muhammad had these different spouses, his adoration for his first wife, Lady Khadija, never decreased. Al-Bukhãri, cites the most youthful of his spouses, Lady 'Ã'isha, as follows:

"I didn't feel envious of any of the spouses of the Prophet as much as I did of Khadījah… in light of the fact that the Prophet used to (recall and) notice her frequently. What's more, at whatever point he butchered a sheep, he would send (the choicest parts) to Khadījah's companions. At the point when I at times said to him, 'Apparently Khadījah was the main lady on the planet,' the Prophet would state, 'Khadījah was such-and-such, and from her I had children.'"10

In another portrayal, as indicated by al-Bukhãri, Lady 'Ã'isha says: "Once Hãlah, the sister of Khadījah, requested that authorization go into the house." Upon hearing Hãlah's voice, which sounded fundamentally the same as that of Khadīja, the Prophet recollected her cherished spouse. 'Ã'isha says, "I got desirous and stated, 'What causes you to recall an elderly person among the elderly people ladies of Quraysh, an old toothless lady who kicked the bucket some time in the past, while God has given you someone better than her?'"11

The Prophet turned out to be noticeably vexed, and he stated: "By Allãh, I don't have anybody better than Khadījah. She had faith in me when others were soaks into disloyalty. She vouched for my fact when other dismissed my case. She helped me with her riches when others denied me. What's more, Allãh gave me youngsters by her."12

These suppositions of the Prophet, communicated to the most youthful of his spouses, plainly show that for him, Lady Khadījah was as yet the First Lady of Islam. The various relationships had some social, political or strict explanations for them. These relationships did not depend on desire and energy, the same number of foes of Islam might want to state.

I trust that this talk has helped you in understanding the Islamic view on polygamy just as the explanations behind the Prophet's relationships. Islam is a religion in line with human instinct and has rules and rules for the consuming social issues within recent memory.
